VDP.Weingut Künstler

Since 1648, Weingut Künstler has been a family-owned business. Unteil the end of World War II , the family cultivated their estate which was located 80 km north of the Austrian capital Vienna, in Untertannowitz in the South Moravian Region in the Czech Republic. After expropriation and expulsion, Franz Künstler had to leave the century-old homeland of his family and in 1965 he re-established the Weingut Künstler in Hochheim Main/Rheingau. Due to his philosophy of uncompromising quality, his wines were promptly very much acclaimed on the occasion of wine tastings and gained considerable number of awards. Since 1992, the estate is owned by his son Gunter pursuing his father´s philosophy and assisted by his wife Monika and by a very committed young team. Since 1994, Weingut Künstler is a member of the VDP/ The Assiociation of German Quality and Prädikat Wine Estates. Year after year, the estate gains countless national and international awards and ranks among the most renowned German wine estates.
