About
Stadlmann’s history of wine growing on the southern outskirts of Vienna dates back to 1778. Feeling intrinsically linked with the region and its traditions, the family trusts in its experience and the great potential of their historic vineyards. They respect the soil and the natural development of the grapes (certified organic, dry farming, no enrichment) allowing the clearest character of wines to be made. Stadlmann relies on time-honoured methods using large wood barrels for vinification. The wines are full of character and persistence, and present some of the finest examples among Austria’s most typical wines. With intensive and complex wines crafted from indigenous Zierfandler and Rotgipfler grapes, the wonderful potential of these noble varietals is demonstrated. Traditionally Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir and St.Laurent are cultivated on valuable calcareous soil to produce elegant wines.
