Description
Ripe and healthy pears are harvested and very carefully pressed into juice, which then ferments. The fermentation is then interrupted by the addition of pear distillate. This mixture is then transferred to oak casks where it is stored for three years. We promote the maturing of MOSTELLO by storage in the open air in contrast to the habit worldwide of maturation in warehouses in very warm or hot regions. Our casks spend a whole year outside in temperatures of + 30 degrees in summer and -20 in winter MOSTELLO is not spoilt and not filtered and therefore remains in its natural state. So-called “Alpine Ageing” develops a very special effect such that the herby alpine air generates very unusual and characteristic aromas. What results is a amber –colored, clear and slightly fortified drink. Storage in barrique barrels develops a unique and exquisite dessert pear-wine composition, which in the nose is reminiscent of honey wine. On the palate, it reminds one of dried pear, honey and dried raisins. An excellent aperitif is a first-class accompaniment to fruit sweets and ideal with tangy cheeses. We recommend MOSTELLO with green and blue cheeses It is also a perfect choice to improve the flavour of any and all sweets and pastries.
