Weingut Anita & Hans Nittnaus

Anita and Hans took over the family estate in the 1980s and soon became leaders of the Austrian red wine movement. The vineyards are farmed according to biodynamic methods; hand harvest, spontaneous fermentation and a low intervention approach take center stage. The vineyards are situated on the northern shore of lake Neusiedl: the eastern side around Gols (clay/loam/gravel) and the western side around Jois on the Leithaberg (slate/limestone). The main varieties are Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt and Merlot. The wines represent their unique Pannonian style, characterized by elegance and complexity.
