Vineyard: Steinnelke
The thousand-year-old vineyard meadow to the west of Rust was formed about 16 million years ago as a coral reef of the primordial sea. A shell limestone sediment and crystalline gneiss give the wine its very mineral, powerful and unique character. The sunny south-eastern slopes of the hill country around Rust are among the most traditional and best vineyards in Austria.
Vinification
After completion of the fermentation, the wine was stored for about 5 months on the fine yeasts and then for about 2 months in large used oak barrels.
Food Pairing
Excellent with Pannonian cuisine as an insider tip baked liver!
