Vineyard: Himmelfahrt
The thousand-year-old vineyard meadow to the west of Rust was formed about 16 million years ago as a coral reef of the primordial sea. A shell limestone sediment and crystalline gneiss give the wine its very mineral, powerful and unique character. The sunny south-eastern slopes of the hill country around Rust are among the most traditional and best vineyards in Austria.
Vinification
Our Neuburger was fermented with natural yeasts. After completion of the fermentation, the wine was stored for about 5 months on the fine yeast and then for about 2 months in large used oak barrels.
Food Pairing
Perfect wine to go with Wiener Schnitzel with potato salad!
